A suspect accused of shooting dead Murat Saral, a municipal council member from Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), in the Gölcük district of Kocaeli province has been apprehended in the İznik district of Bursa.
The incident took place in Gölcük's Çiftlik neighbourhood, where an argument broke out between Saral and the suspect, identified by the initials A.I.U., for reasons that remain unknown. As the dispute escalated, the suspect allegedly opened fire on Saral with a handgun.
