The Customs Workers' Union (Güç-Sen) has condemned the attacks targeting journalist Pınar Barut and other media workers on duty, stating that such acts threaten not only the personal safety of journalists but also press freedom and the public's right to access information.
Güç-Sen President Ediz Kanatlı, in a written statement, stressed that no attempt to silence journalists through violence or intimidation can be tolerated in a democratic society.
"As Güç-Sen, we hereby declare to the public that we stand in solidarity with press workers in defending press freedom and democratic values," Kanatlı said.
