Turkish technology company Martı has officially introduced "RoboMartı," a project aimed at deploying artificial intelligence-powered driverless vehicles for urban transportation. The project was presented by company founder Oğuz Alper Öktem and seeks to merge autonomous driving technology with a shared-ride model to transform city mobility.
RoboMartı is equipped with high-resolution cameras, lidar, and radar sensors that provide 360-degree environmental awareness. Its AI-driven software is designed to analyze traffic lights, pedestrians, other vehicles, and road conditions in real time, enabling the system to make driving decisions without human intervention.
Autonomous driving technology has largely been associated with the United States and China, but Martı's initiative marks a tangible step forward in Turkey's engagement with the field. Founder Öktem noted that test drives had been completed successfully, stating: "Our goal is to launch a new era in transportation by combining AI-powered driverless vehicles with shared mobility. The successful completion of test drives demonstrates where our technology stands and Martı's pioneering role in this space."
Öktem added that the company will continue working to shape the future of transportation in Turkey.
