Ziya Rızkı, a former member of parliament, mayor, mujahit commander, serdar and sportsman who made significant contributions to the Turkish Cypriot community's struggle for existence, will be remembered with ceremonies on Tuesday, marking the 32nd anniversary of his death.
The first ceremony will be held at 09:30 in front of his bust in Ziya Rızkı Square.
A second ceremony will follow at 10:15 at his graveside in Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery.
Rızkı, whose legacy spans politics, local government, his role as a commander during the years of struggle and sport, is remembered each year on the anniversary of his death as one of the prominent figures of the Turkish Cypriot community.
