A van with registration plate ME 688 parked on Mersinlik Street in Aydınköy caught fire at around 23:00 on 29 October 2026. According to the Police Press Office, the fire is believed to have started due to a short circuit in the vehicle's engine electrical system.
Firefighters dispatched to the scene brought the flames under control and extinguished the fire. The vehicle's cabin, front wheels and engine compartment were completely destroyed, while the bodywork paint was partially damaged.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
