The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) met shopkeepers and citizens in the Arasta area of Nicosia. The visit, led by party leader Sıla Usar İncirli, was also attended by Nicosia Municipal Council members and candidates, as well as MPs and parliamentary candidates.

Warmly received in the streets of the walled city, the CTP delegation went from shop to shop chatting with traders and embracing citizens. During the visit, the delegation listened to people's demands, suggestions and problems while explaining the party's policies on local government and the governance of the country.

Stressing that shopkeepers do extremely valuable work, İncirli thanked them for safeguarding the cultural heritage despite what she described as difficult conditions created by the current government. "We are touring the walled city of Nicosia step by step and meeting our people. There is tremendous effort and value here," she said.

Continuing her criticism of the government, İncirli said citizens are forced to struggle with economic hardship with each passing day. "People's concern is the worsening living conditions. They complain that they cannot receive the services they want. We have completed our preparations on all these issues," she said.

Noting that her party would work to strengthen economic life and provide quality services to the public, İncirli said: "We are ready with all our cadres so that the country can move forward into the future with honest governance. By preserving and developing our collective memory and history, we will walk together towards better days."
