Four people sustained injuries in two unrelated assault incidents that took place in different parts of Northern Cyprus on 27 and 28 October 2026, with three suspects subsequently taken into custody.
The first incident occurred in Gemikonağı on the afternoon of 27 October at around 4:00 p.m. A 23-year-old male suspect, identified by initials M.Ç., pushed a 24-year-old man, M.A.Ç., and punched him in the face, causing a laceration to his lower lip and breaking one of his teeth. During the same altercation, M.Ç. is also alleged to have struck another individual, M.K., on the left ear, causing serious injury. The suspect was arrested and an investigation was launched.
Less than nine hours later, in the early hours of 28 October at approximately 00:30, a second assault took place outside an entertainment venue in Kyrenia. Two suspects — E.E., aged 24, and T.Y., aged 33 — are alleged to have beaten a 29-year-old man, R.Y., striking him in multiple areas of the body. R.Y. suffered a fracture to his right knee as a result of the attack. Both E.E. and T.Y. were arrested shortly after the incident.
The Police Press Office confirmed that investigations into both cases are ongoing.
