The Gocmenkoy Hunting and Shooting Association in Nicosia held a solidarity event bringing its members together ahead of the new hunting season.
According to a statement from the association, attendees were briefed on the work and projects it has carried out to date, and plaques of appreciation were presented to individuals and institutions that have supported it.
Among those receiving plaques were Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmanci and Gonyeli-Alaykoy Mayor Huseyin Amcaoglu. Former association presidents Sitki Mergiz and Ali Yoncu, as well as members Erdogan Mani and Ahmet Hoca, were also honoured.
Olive saplings were planted during the event, and a cocktail reception was held to strengthen unity and solidarity among members.
Addressing the gathering, Association President Erhan Keser said the organisation had achieved significant work in many areas since its foundation and would continue its activities with the same determination. Keser thanked the members who attended and everyone who has provided material and moral support to the association.
