Six veteran table tennis players representing North Cyprus have set off for Edirne, Turkey, where the Balkan Veterans Table Tennis Championship will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2025. The delegation comprises Mustafa Oymacı, Fadıl Olguner, Dinç Türeray, Zehra Beyar, Değer Baysal and Fikret İpekçioğlu.
The Cyprus Table Tennis Federation issued a statement wishing the athletes success, expressing hope that they would "represent our country in the best possible way and return with fine results."
The federation also highlighted the broader significance of the participation, noting that it marks the first step for Cypriot players in the veterans category following the federation's admission as an observer member to the Balkan Table Tennis Union. Officials expressed hope that this milestone would prove beneficial for the development of table tennis on the island.
