Ali Kamacıoğlu, President of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry (KTSO), announced that the organisation is pressing ahead with its initiative to establish a Special Industrial Zone in Northern Cyprus, urging the government and relevant ministries to treat the matter as a priority.
Kamacıoğlu said the demands raised by members at the general assembly would guide the organisation's future work. He described the project as a significant step for industrial growth and increased production capacity, with the aim of providing industrialists access to planned, fully serviced areas suitable for investment.
The KTSO president stressed that businesses operating in properly equipped and planned zones is essential for sustainable industrial development. He added that the legal and administrative processes required to advance the project would be evaluated in coordination with the relevant institutions, and that KTSO stands ready to take on responsibility in cooperation with public bodies.
"The views and proposals put forward by our members at the general assembly will shape our work. We will resolutely continue our efforts to turn the Special Industrial Zone demand into a concrete project. We will follow through on this process, which will contribute to production, investment and employment," Kamacıoğlu said.
He emphasised that the initiative goes beyond simply meeting industrialists' need for space, framing it as a broader project to strengthen domestic production, encourage new investment, create jobs and drive economic development on a productive foundation.
