The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus State Opera and Ballet Coordination Centre (KKTCDOB) hosted an educational and promotional event for students and teachers at Lefke Gazi High School, as part of its ongoing 'Opera & Ballet Everywhere' outreach project. The event, titled 'Opera & Ballet in Lefke', took place at the Lefke Municipality Atatürk Cultural Centre.
Two separate performances were staged on the same day, featuring piano accompaniment and interactive presentations designed to introduce young audiences to the worlds of opera and ballet. The event was organised with the support of the Presidency and contributions from Lefke Gazi High School.
The KKTCDOB team featured General Director and Artistic Director Baritone Tuğrul Enver Töre, Deputy Artistic Director Soprano Sermin Dikmen Töre, choreographers and dancers Petek İnanç and Kerem Ünal İnanç, and pianist-accompanist Esra Poyrazoğlu Alpan.
Marking the first school-focused event of the new arts season, KKTCDOB announced that it plans to bring 'Opera & Ballet Everywhere' to other cities across Northern Cyprus, with the aim of raising cultural awareness and ensuring that children and young people encounter these art forms during their school years. Students and teachers were invited to attend upcoming KKTCDOB events.
