University and high school students met with Cypriot poets at an event held within the scope of Mavi Fırça Sanat Evi's 'From Poetry to Canvas' project at the İsmet Vehit Güney Art Centre in Nicosia. The exhibition features works created by 32 amateur female participants who drew inspiration from poems by Cypriot poets, and drew considerable interest from the student visitors.

Project coordinator Feray Atamert guided students through the exhibition, explaining its purpose and the stories behind the artworks. Exhibition curator Zühre Özkaraman described the process of translating poetry into visual art on canvas. During the event, several students recited the poems that had inspired the displayed paintings.

Poet Ayşe Güler Akın, who was unable to attend the opening due to health reasons, joined the students at this gathering. Expressing her strong support for the project, Akın shared her thoughts on the role of art in everyday life with the young visitors.

Poets Yılmaz Hakkı Hakeri, Şener Levent and Faize Özdemirciler also visited the exhibition and engaged in conversations with students, highlighting the significance of art, knowledge and literature. All three poets encouraged young people to read, write and embrace art as part of their daily lives. The event concluded with poets and students inscribing their reflections in the exhibition's guest book.

The 'From Poetry to Canvas' exhibition, which showcases the unifying power of art, will remain open to visitors at the İsmet Vehit Güney Art Centre in Nicosia until 30 October.
