Police in Northern Cyprus thwarted a planned armed attack on a car dealership in Nicosia, arresting the suspect before he could carry out the act. The operation was conducted by the Crime Prevention Branch of the Nicosia Police Directorate at around 23:00 on October 30, 2026.
According to the Police Press Office, the suspect, identified as B.G., had allegedly formed a covert alliance with a person based abroad to commit a serious crime, specifically planning an armed assault on a Nicosia car dealership. He was located and detained in Kyrenia before the attack could take place.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
