TRNC Minister of Economy and Energy Hasan Taçoy issued a message marking the 103rd founding anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, describing it as "the seal of the Turkish nation's sovereignty" and "the undying torch of Turkish independence."
Taçoy stated that for 103 years, Turkey has been not only the homeland of Turkish Cypriots but the cherished motherland of the entire Turkic world. "This seal has inspired Turkish Cypriots in their struggle for existence and in the founding of their own state," he said.
The minister noted that the ideals of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who led the Turkish nation to independence and statehood, continue to illuminate the path of the Turkish Cypriot people today.
In closing, Taçoy paid tribute to Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all those who fought for independence, offering his gratitude to veterans and his respect to those who gave their lives.
