M.B., who is wanted in Türkiye for fraud committed through information systems, was located and arrested in Kyrenia on 23 October 2026 following an extradition request from Turkish authorities. The suspect was subsequently brought before a court in Nicosia.
Giving evidence at the hearing, police officer Doğan Tosun presented the facts regarding the suspect's arrest to the court. Tosun stated that M.B. was wanted in Türkiye for fraud committed via information systems and was located and taken into custody in Kyrenia following the Turkish authorities' extradition request.
Stating that the investigation was continuing so that proceedings for the suspect's extradition to Türkiye could be initiated, police requested an additional two days of remand from the court.
After evaluating the evidence, Judge Şevket Gazi ordered that the suspect M.B. be held in police custody for three days.
The process regarding the suspect's extradition to Türkiye is continuing as part of the police investigation.
