Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Cyprus's Minister of Labor and Social Security, has issued a public message of gratitude following his success in the National Unity Party's (UBP) internal candidate selection and ranking vote held on October 24. With 8,929 party members participating, Hasipoğlu said the trust and support shown to him was a source of great pride, and announced that his focus now shifts to the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for December 6.
Hasipoğlu stressed that the result was not his achievement alone, but a shared success belonging to his team, supporters and party members who stood by him under all circumstances. He also acknowledged the effort and courage shown by all candidates who competed in the internal vote, calling their contribution to the democratic process invaluable.
The minister said he would act with a sense of responsibility toward everyone who shares the same future, regardless of whether they supported him or not. He emphasized that politics is not about gaining a position, but about serving the public, making a lasting impact and standing behind one's promises.
Concluding his statement, Hasipoğlu declared: "This pride belongs to all of us, this success belongs to all of us, this responsibility belongs to all of us!" He added that he and his team would continue working with the same enthusiasm in the lead-up to the December 6 vote.
