Prime Minister and UBP leader Ünal Üstel visited Dikmen, Çatalköy and Karşıyaka for a series of pre-election consultations, outlining his party's campaign platform and responding to opposition criticism ahead of the upcoming local elections. He confirmed that UBP will field 18 candidates across 18 municipalities.

Emphasising the government's five-year record, Üstel declared: "Our job is to deliver, to serve our people. We produce results, not words. We will maintain political stability, continue our investments and keep serving our citizens."

Addressing the opposition's calls for accountability, Üstel said his government had never shied away from scrutiny and invited critics to form a joint committee to review all actions taken since 2020. He accused the opposition of offering only criticism without presenting concrete projects of their own, saying: "What matters is being able to explain what you have done when you face the public. The people know you and what you have accomplished."

Üstel reiterated his target of building 15,000 homes to help young people own property and start families in northern Cyprus, adding that rural land allocation work was also ongoing. "We will implement new initiatives that will benefit our children, youth, women and elderly," he said.

The prime minister also criticised certain municipalities for taking credit for government-funded projects, stating that roads and schools built by the central government should not be claimed by local authorities who had no part in delivering them.

UBP's candidate introduction event is scheduled for 7 November at the Atatürk Sports Hall, where Üstel invited all party members and their families to attend what he described as a celebratory gathering.
