A maritime notice (NAVTEX) has been issued for the natural gas pipeline planned between Turkey and the north of Cyprus. Under the notice, survey and underwater works will be carried out in a designated area of the Mediterranean between 26 October and 31 December.
The project envisages a pipeline running from Anamur on Turkey's southern coast to Teknecik in the north of Cyprus.
The NAVTEX covers a sea area in the Mediterranean defined by 12 coordinates. The research and underwater activities in this zone form part of the work related to the pipeline's route.
With the notice, offshore work on the project aimed at carrying natural gas from Turkey to the north of Cyprus is set to get under way.
