Sonay Adem, a prominent figure in Turkish Cypriot politics and the left-wing movement who served as Minister of Labour and Social Security, will be commemorated on the 8th anniversary of his passing at a graveside ceremony in Famagusta Cemetery on Thursday, October 29, at 11:00 a.m.
Adem passed away on October 29, 2018. Throughout his political career, he served as a member of parliament and minister within the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) for many years. In the later years of his political life, he held the position of Secretary General of the Communal Liberation Party – New Forces (TKP-YG).
The ceremony will be attended by his family, close friends, fellow politicians and party comrades. Speeches will be delivered honouring Adem's contributions to Turkish Cypriot labour life and the struggle for democracy.
