Salih Ruso, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) candidate for mayor of Geçitkale-Serdarlı, has pledged to fully safeguard the employment rights, social insurance contributions and legal entitlements of municipal staff if his party comes to power. Ruso argued that municipal administration goes beyond infrastructure, insisting that a council that meets its obligations to employees delivers stronger public services.

Ruso stressed that his administration would not discriminate on political grounds when dealing with existing staff. "Everyone who works in the municipality is our colleague. We will not act based on which era someone was hired in, their political views, or who they are close to. Using people's livelihoods for political ends is simply wrong," he said, adding that every employee who does their job deserves to have their rights protected.

On the issue of overtime, Ruso said that extra hours worked should be compensated with pay rather than being routinely offset by time off in lieu, while still taking the municipality's financial situation into account. "Depositing social contributions on time and ensuring workers are not kept waiting for what they are owed is a fundamental responsibility for us," he stated.

Ruso linked his approach to the CTP's broader labour policy, saying that the party's commitment to workers' rights would be reflected in the day-to-day management of the municipality. "An employee should not arrive at work each morning worrying about tomorrow. They should know their entitlements will be paid on time and their effort will be rewarded," he said.

Ruso also committed to delivering equal services across all settlements under the municipality's jurisdiction, from Geçitkale to Serdarlı. He summarised his vision as a municipality that protects workers' rights, manages resources responsibly, leaves no village behind, and remains accountable to residents.
