A traffic accident occurred on Bedrettin Demirel Avenue in Nicosia at around 21:30 last night, when a 24-year-old driver identified as Cevdat Alptürk, with a blood alcohol level of 265 milligrams, collided with a vehicle that had stopped due to traffic congestion ahead.
The stationary vehicle, bearing plate number ZF 953, was driven by 34-year-old Muhammed İbrahim Ata. Both cars sustained material damage in the collision, but no injuries were reported.
Following the incident, police arrested Alptürk on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic accident. Legal proceedings against the suspect are ongoing.
