Toplumcu Demokrasi Partisi (TDP) Chairman Zeki Çeler stated that restoring public trust in politics can only be achieved through accountability, transparency and keeping electoral promises — not through rhetoric alone. Speaking on Kanal T in a programme hosted by Çiğdem Aydın, Çeler said TDP would approach any potential governing coalition based on policies that benefit the public and core principles, not on the distribution of posts or power.

"For us, the issue is not being in government — it is being able to create real change in people's lives. We will not be part of a government where we cannot keep our promises," Çeler said, noting that TDP enters the race backed by 50 years of political experience and tradition.

Çeler highlighted that at TDP's candidate ranking convention, all 50 parliamentary candidates signed a pledge agreeing to waive legislative immunity — except for immunity related to parliamentary speeches. He described this as a concrete step toward strengthening political accountability and said citizens need to see that no one is above the law.

On electoral ambitions, Çeler said TDP aims to become the third-largest party and wants to be a force that produces solutions in parliament rather than merely tipping the balance of numbers. "We will not be a lock party — we will be a key party," he said, emphasising that TDP's political approach is built on solving the country's problems, not on gaining bargaining leverage.

Among TDP's top priorities, Çeler listed the implementation of a general health insurance system and stressed that policies directly affecting citizens' daily lives should be the main criterion for any coalition agreement. He concluded that real success lies in honouring campaign commitments and transforming the existing order, not simply in holding office.
