The Yeniden Doğuş Partisi (YDP) issued a public statement addressing two separate issues that emerged during the candidate registration process for local elections in Nicosia and Famagusta. The party announced that the application of its Nicosia Turkish Municipality mayoral candidate Dr. Özkul Haraç, along with three municipal council candidates, had been rejected due to a four-minute delay, while a residency document irregularity in Famagusta had been referred to police.

According to the statement, Dr. Haraç's candidacy application was submitted at 15:34, four minutes after the District Election Board's deadline of 15:30. The application was consequently deemed invalid, and a subsequent appeal to the Supreme Election Board (YSK) was also rejected. YDP noted that the Nicosia District Administrative Officer had been removed from duty and that an official inquiry into the matter had been launched.

In Famagusta, the party's district secretary misunderstood a warning from election board officials that residency documents needed to include the phrase "has been residing in the TRNC for the last three years." Acting on this misunderstanding, the secretary manually added the phrase in handwriting to the candidates' documents. The irregularity was detected by the District Election Board, and the matter was subsequently reported to the police.

YDP maintained that there was no intent to deceive or mislead, emphasizing that all candidates in question had either lived in the TRNC for many years or were born in the country. The party's statement read: "Human misunderstandings can occur during intense electoral periods. Nevertheless, both matters are being taken seriously by our party and are being closely monitored."

The party also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing election campaigning in unity with its candidates and local organizations.
