A night club employee identified as T.Ç. has been arrested and brought before court in Alayköy, accused of stealing 46,000 TL in customer funds between 16 and 17 August 2026.

A police officer testifying in court stated that a complaint regarding the incident was filed on 30 August. Subsequent checks revealed that the suspect had already left the country on 18 August, prior to the complaint being lodged.

T.Ç. was detected and detained upon re-entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus through Kyrenia Harbour on 29 October 2026. According to police testimony, the suspect claimed in his statement that the money had been received from a single customer. Police confirmed that the investigation had been concluded.

As the suspect had entered the country on a tourist visa, the prosecution requested that an appropriate bail be set, leaving the matter to the court's discretion. Judge Gizem Erciyas ordered that T.Ç. be remanded in custody for a period not exceeding 20 days.
