Three people are facing legal proceedings in İskele after police checks on two separate roads uncovered hunting rifles and ammunition being transported without special authorization on a day when hunting was closed.
During a check on the Çayırova-Pamuklu main road, officers searched a vehicle driven by A.Ç. (29) and found one hunting rifle along with 158 shotgun cartridges. The suspect was found to be carrying the firearm and ammunition without the required special permit.
A second check on the İskele-Karpaz main road revealed two hunting rifles and 151 shotgun cartridges in a vehicle driven by A.K. (67), with T.S. (69) travelling as a passenger. Neither individual held the necessary special permit to transport hunting weapons on a closed hunting day.
All rifles and ammunition were seized as evidence. Legal proceedings have been initiated against all three suspects by the Crime Prevention Unit attached to the İskele Police Directorate.
